PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai, Asia Pacific's largest fair for photo-based and digital art, was established in 2014. In 2014, it was created in response to the growing demand and interest in collecting photography throughout Asia. The Fair, which is held annually, is a showcase of fine arts that embraces conceptual and experimental practices along with the work by modern masters and current talents. The Fair is a place of discovery that showcases galleries and artists who are at the forefront. The Fair, which is complemented by a vibrant program of public, VIP, and satellite events, brings together galleries and museums from Shanghai and throughout China to celebrate the best photography from Asia Pacific. PHOTOFAIRS is organized by Creo, and is part of Angus Montgomery Arts.
Insights is an exhibition that was launched in 2016. It focuses on a specific theme or a significant moment in the history of photography. Each year, PHOTOFAIRS China commissions a curator who will offer a fresh perspective on photography.
